<p>The housing assignments for freshmen certainly did seem kind of random this year. They claimed they would be by FFC, but in my D’s case, (freshman in film production), that just didn’t materialize, nor was she housed with others in Dodge. The claims that as a whole, most of the students she knows were not housed according to FFC, as others had so strongly claimed they would be. One thing too, she chose roommates who each had a different FFC (She is in a triple), and was told that roommate preference always trumps any sort of other living arrangement (for example, placing students in groups according to FFC, major, sport, etc.) One thing she did say is that, since the much anticipated “filmmakers village” fell through, there will be a “film dorm” next year, or more likely a floor of a dorm. This filled up pretty quickly, and I’m not sure whether that is exclusively for upper classmen (I suspect it is) and they plan to house the Dodge freshmen somewhere else.</p>
<p>In general, the system still seems to be in flux, with the university casting about what to do with Dodge students since there is no film village to work with. Others may have a different experience, with this, of course.</p>
