I wouldn’t let a C affect you. It should be fine. The only time it might have a possible impact is if it’s a required course for Haas.
On the other hand, if it’s a required course for a selective major and you know it’ll be a match at a CCC (Calc 1, Intro to Psych, etc), you could opt for a C- and retake at the CCC. You can retake C- or lower. I don’t know if I would do it, but there are plenty of people that do.
