Amarie92, you are surely not the only person to feel like that. However, the good and the bad about this site is that we’re all anonymous. For many people, the effect is a little like getting drunk. There are mean drunks, and there are happy drunks. Your real personality comes out. Some rude or dishonest people will say a lot of crap they might not say if their names were attached. Some very nice, helpful people would not be as forthcoming with real, personal information if their identities were known and it might embarrass someone.

If you learn to take the good and the bad, if your do your best to keep the tone of conversation high, you can get some very good advice here. Sometimes when people seem a little harsh about stats, it is an older person trying to be genuinely helpful by being realistic about a kid’s chances.
