<p>My doctor told me the flakey skin in my ear was excema. He explained that skin naturally “dies” and flakes off, but the cycle is faster if it’s excema. Hence, dry, flakey skin. Occasionally I use a prescription cream when it’s particularly bad, called Embeline E (clobetasol propionate cream-emollient).</p>
