Does anyone know anything about Concordia University in Chicago or Chicago in general

Student absolutely should bring his bike, or buy one on Craigslist once he gets here. Lots of Concordia students have bikes, and many local residents do errands using their bikes too, weather-permitting.

Thanks everyone, the information on the area sounds great, the bike was actually a big issue, so the information here has been very valuable. Glad to hear of student success stories  I think Midway might be the better option. I think once S gets comfortable with Chicago he will like the city, he just hasn’t given it a chance, he should know the airport doesn’t represent the city (although we’ve been stuck there more than a few times!) I’ll talk to him tonight about it.

The recommendations for Milwaukee airport are about as absurd as the one thread in which someone was coming to visit the city of Chicago and was planning on staying in DeKalb, IL and taking the train. I wouldn’t even recommend Milwaukee airport for a student going to Northwestern / in Evanston, which is at least on the way to Milwaukee; it’s ludicrous to suggest it for someone going to River Forest.

You’ve already made your point on that – several times.

As for Midway, Southwest is our friend.
