<p>Technically there are only the three merit aid programs at Carleton that were mentioned earlier. Below is a discussion about this topic from the Carleton forum at CC. It may be useful to people.</p>

<p>however…sometimes there is a fine line between the need based aid and merit based aid that they give out. As an alumni of Carleton, this fine line sorta rubs me the wrong way sometimes. For example, check out this link below and look at the package the person got. This student was a great fit and I think the student decided to go, however the package just seems to be borderline need based vs. merit based.</p>

<p>It was an international scholarship that may not have been completelpy need based. I don’t know if there are similar scholarships for americans hidden away somewhere at Carleton. There may be.</p>
