@amxn15 , would you consider ECU? or your prefer NCSU because of the college atmosphere like football?
it is little late to fix GPA during junior. get your SAT to 1350 or higher makes more sense.
Your unweighted isn’t bad but you’re aiming for colleges that want students with 3.75 or at least 3.5 (with rigor). Definitely apply to NCSU etc, but go in with open eyes and apply to more universities.
No I don’t think I would consider ECU unless I got into their honors college.

The ECU honors college this year students had high GPAs/SAT. The 20 full rides tend to be valedictorians from Eastern NC. My daughter was offered one of the 100 no tuition scholarships, she had a 4.8w GPA, 1 B, and 7 APs. She did not get an interview for the highest scholarship. The honors college doubled in size this year and an additional 100 students were offered 2,500 a year. These students also had high GPAs. My daughter declined ECU to attend UNC with no scholarship. ECU tuition is cheap so over four years it was maybe 16,000. NCSU and UNCW were difficult to get into this year. Some of her friends were shocked they did not get into those schools. UNCW was several of her friend’s “safety” schools and they did not get in. Clemson was also difficult and my daughter and a friend from an IB school both got in but did not get any scholarship offer. The same with FSU. GPAs and especially SAT scores were higher than anticipated this year. My son is a rising Junior and an A/B student and realisticlly looking at ECU no honors.
My school is ridiculously hard and competitive though, almost 800 people in my class alone. I know kids with extremely low GPAs who were accepted to UNCW and ECU and didn’t really try in high school at all. I guess I’ll just have to see where I’ll end up. A realistic option for me would probably be the University of South Carolina (with hopefully some money) at this point. My SAT score hasn’t come back yet but my last one was a 1270. I’m hoping if I get a good score now and do even better in August I’ll have close to a 1400.
I wasn’t saying a scholarship for Clemson, I was only saying that for U of SC. I’m not even sure if I can get into Clemson honestly haha.

I didn’t do well in AP English Language, that is why I decided to switch back to Honors next year.
Look at the scholarship page for USC - they’re very competitive and difficult to get, with many required SAT scores at 1400+.
I have a friend who had a extremely low GPA and a 1320 on his SAT who received $40K over four years, I have another friend who had a 1270 and a little higher GPA who also received the same scholarship. From my school, pretty much everyone gets into U of SC and a lot of people get the $40K award but not many get more than that.
I even emailed the representative and she said the average SAT for the $40K award went up to a 1305 rather than a 1299 which it was last year.

My daughter received around 70K from USC. She attends a Wake County school. A “classmate” junior graduating early was a USC honor student but attending Duke. My daughter had a friend from a prestigious private school applied to all Ivies plus Duke Georgetown etc around 18 schools and was only accepted to Clemson. My daughter was accepted to University of South Carolina (scholarship), Clemson University, NC State, Florida State, and Virginia Tech (small scholarship maybe 7k). Florida State was also difficult this year. FSU, Clemson, and USC all off bridge program read acceptance letters carefully as well as summer admits and spring admits. FSU bridge is a great option with FYA, after the first year you receive instate Florida tuition. NCSU and UNCW also offered spring admits. Schools are offering bridge, summer, and spring so they can increase stats of admitted students GPA and SAT/ACT.
USC bases their scholarships mainly off of students’ scores… if I get a 1350 I will definitely get something from them… (probably around 40K) I don’t think I’m really a bridge program student, my grades & SAT are not that low.
@amxn15 you need a lab science and forensics won’t count. I have a S18 headed to NCSU and a D20 and live in NC. S18 applied to USC and Clemson so I know about needing the extra science. Switch Forensics to Physics for best results. Good luck.
I talked directly to an admissions representative and he told me Honors Forensics would count as my last science credit, he even looked up my school and made sure it would be okay, which it is. Thanks though.

If the 40K scholarship (10K/year) is enough then all’s good. I meant the true Honors scholarships like Top Scholars, (Lieber, Horseshoe McNair…). The basic merit award is indeed about 1300 SAT.

Thank you so much! I’m not saying I’m completely satisfied with that scholarship but I will try to get my SAT as high as possible. I really appreciate the advice and support. I will of course, I still have a while though. (:
