Does everyone have their popcorn ready for Harry & Meghan?

I think they’ll go to the coronation because they’re attention-seekers and it’s a great way to get a lot of attention, whether it be positive or negative.

See. It’s already started. So if they go they must be attention seekers.
So what if they don’t go then? Would they be better people?

I don’t personally know what they will do, but people who want to vilify them will do so either decision they make.

Ok, fair comment. So what do you think their motivation would be if they attended given the last 2 years?

Personally I hope they do attend. Maybe someday Harry will reconcile with his family, and he will not have any regrets about missing this historic moment.

I don’t really give a rip if they go or not. Another totally more obvious reason to go would be because it’s Harry’s dad’s coronation ceremony for the king of England. Whether H&M go or not, the British press will be all up in their business over the whole thing.

I think he’ll go. Harry is a monarchist, his father is King and he loves his father. What I’m more curious about is if Meghan will go.

If I were in that situation, my thinking would be along the lines that if I attend, it will be excruciating and I will be all again called names and vilified. However, if I don’t attend the coronation of my father after he extended the invitation, that might very well be the last invitation we get and it might be the real ending to any family ties. He would be accused of not supporting him on his most important day (strange to say this, but)…. I would also hope that bringing kids might soften family dynamic. But again, this is what’s in my head. Who knows what’s in theirs.

I think Harry should go (to the Coronation) and do what he can to mend fences while he’s there. Meghan should stay behind in the US. Like or dislike her, for better or worse, she is catalyst that has led to the way things are now. I don’t think her being there would help in trying to find common ground.

Some will disagree, but at this point she needs to support Harry in his efforts to find a new normal with his family and not make it about her. They don’t have to like her but they should, for Harry’s sake, be respectful to her - but before that happens, Harry needs to fix his stuff with them.

I agree. Charles extended an olive branch by inviting them. I think Harry needs to go. I hadn’t thought about them splitting up, but I guess that’s an option, though Meghan would get skewered. I’m beginning to think it would be best for Harry to go alone so that H&M don’t pull all the attention away from Charles.

There is sound logic in that.
But I wonder if taking kids with them (which would likely mean Meagan going as well) would create more positive dynamic with family.
One think I wouldn’t do if I were Meaghan is go without kids.

The kids likely wouldn’t go to the coronation ceremony, which is also the same day as Archie’s birthday, anyway based on their age.

For sure. I think the kids going would be adorable, but can you imagine Harry taking the kids without Meghan? Oh, boy. I think it would be great for the kids to go because, for better or worse, this is their heritage and they should be a part of it. I suppose they could all go and weather the criticism. They are used to it.

@skieurope , they wouldn’t be part of a balcony shot?

But being there with kids might mean family comes to see them, maybe conversations happen… I always found children can soften up situations with tense family. I am assuming everybody wants to see them maybe it during the ceremony, but after all,Charles is a grandfather. This could be their chance for it.
I do t see them just scheduling a visit randomly given how tense things have been.

The Jubilee balcony shot was limited to working royals. What KC3 does is anyone’s guess.

My guess is the only children on the balcony will be the 3 Wales children.

See, that would feel so petty to me. That’s where I would believe Meghan when she says who knew you had to curtsy in private? Like her, I would think yeah, that’s public-facing stuff, but we’re still family and don’t behave like that in private. Wrong. And in the balcony case, I’d think those kids are every bit my grandchild as the 3 Wales children so, of course, they would be there. Glad I didn’t marry into this family. I’m quite sure they are, too. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well the British royal family (and general public) does have some history with American divorcees who nearly did bring down the monarchy…

Watched the Chris Rock show on Netflix. He said that he was never interviewed by Oprah because he is not a victim. First thing that came to mind was Harry and Meghan on Oprah.

Just read on CNN that Princess Lilibet was christened in March, apparently using this title. C/C, W/K invited but didn’t show.

So, was this timed so now there is a “we invited you and we were snubbed” as a defense for not going to the coronation? Is using the title Princess a Proactive move, or has Charles given the okay? The drama continues….

The Sussexes’ children’s titles were automatic upon the death of the Queen. That said, Charles can remove the titles just as easily. Whether he will remains to be seen.

As I’ve mentioned before, the BRF is not the world’s only royal family. Title deprivation is not unique; Queen Margrethe of Denmark stripped prince / princess from 4 of her grandchildren effective January 1, and as they are aged 10 - 23, they know what they lost. Archie and Lilibet are too young to know the difference.

First thing that came to my mind was South Park:

Oh, yeah. Is this you? “Sorority girl, Actress, Influencer, Victim.”

And then went on an absolutely hilarious riff on Will and Jada and the Oscars. The show was one of those that leave you asking yourself, 'Am I allowed to laugh at this?" Well, I laughed for the whole hour and 6 minutes.:rofl:
