Does MIT accept students with "okay" grades/SAT scores?

jimmythegent: I see that Ben Jones [answered a question today](www.mitadmissions.org/topics/qanda/questions_and_answers/answers_to_your_questions.shtml) in his blog suspiciously similar to the one raised after your comment above which said

I suggested that this was no longer correct, and today we have the answer from benjones himself:

So there you have it. No summary cards for review.

I came up with a crazy question…if a student has like all 800’s on his SAT I and IIs, and then got a 790 in one of them, and he decided to retake because he really likes 800’s and he got an 800 so that all he’s got is 800800800800800800800…will the adcom think he’s crazy and then turn him down?
Haha. this is just for fun. no serious discussions.

8’s and 0’s are really pretty… so many circles…

haha that might be… a psychological disorder. maybe they’d ask him to submit some medical forms =P

They’d snicker, point, and laugh. And then reject. =)

Or maybe they’d see his PASSION for 8’s and 0’s! Auto-admit, I’d say. ;)

are vision and truazn sreious? I personally think it’s a little unfair to despise someone for improving his score. and maybe he just really likes seeing circles.
