<p>i entered community college not knowing universities ignored high school GPA/stats. i had 3.9 GPA without inflation. school only offered AP classes to top 10% of class, and even then only 40 available spots each school year. never too SAT, but got a 200ish on the PSAT - supposedly equivalent to 2000 on today’s SAT. 30 ACT score, don’t know how i got that. </p>
<p>school president, 200 hours community service, tutored english learners and spanish.</p>
<p>i found out high school didn’t matter after my first semester at JC. had i know my parents were going to blow all my college money on their own personal vacations i would have taken community college classes in high school.</p>
<p>in california, community college is basically free for high school students. </p>
<p>so the answer is NO, UC doesn’t care about HS grades. you might as well include academic awards in the appropriate UC app section, doubt they’ll care. i know im not that only one. plenty of high-achievers ended up going to CC, basically starting over from scratch. it is demoralizing.</p>
