It counts as legacy, but I’ve never gotten the impression that legacy is much of a hook at NYU.
Too many rec letters for NYU. At the info session we attended tgey highlighted that they only ask for one (apart from guidance counselor) and generally applicants should not send more than two. Remember AOs are reading through everyone’s apps. They do not want to be reading 5 or 6 letters per applicant (paraphrasing what they said).
ACT on the low side for NYU, below 25th percentile, but interesting rest of application. Hard to say chances on balance especially for RD. What major/school are you applying for? That matters.
