It looks like in 2008 US patent number 7,326,674 was granted to the company with the following composition claim:

“1. A cleaning composition comprising a mixture including: sodium bicarbonate; citric acid; an alkali metal aikylbenzene sulfonate; an ingredient selected from the group consisting of a trialkyl glycol monoalkyl ether, limonene, and mixtures thereof; and a compound selected from the group consisting of sodium percarbonate, sodium perborate, and mixtures thereof, said composition being in the form of a self-sustaining body and being essentially free of binders, zeolite, and clay.”

If this is what’s in the bottle, it is not a bad list of ingredients. I’d be fine with using it.

Among the ingredients in the patented formula: Na2CO3·1.5H2O2 or sodium percarbonate = OxyClean. Plain OxyClean is cheap and works great on fresh stains that have not had a chance to soak in. Ask anyone to point to the area where I spilled a full glass of Shiraz when I tripped and fell (grrrrrr, cats!!), and they will have a hard time locating the spot that initially looked like a murder scene. OxyClean took care of everything.

Don’t rush to throw out your Nature’s Miracle - I use mine to spray my sweaty exercise clothes so I can use the express cycle instead of the regular cycle to wash them.

The part that did surprise me was that I sprayed the Fizzion on carpet stains that had to be at least a year old – my last dog was blind and she had bladder problems, plus difficulty finding her way around, during the last part of her life – so she really couldn’t make it through the night. I had just decided that I would replace the carpet once she was gone… but then I was too lonely and went and adopted a new dog who wasn’t yet housebroken… so that idea fell by the way side. I honestly didn’t think that the Fizzion would work – I just thought that it was worth a try because it was so cheap.

I can’t say that it works 100% of the time – but its better than anything else I’ve ever had or tried.

The current dog is now fully housebroken – plus I now have two dogs, but dog #2 caught on to the no-peeing in the house rule really quickly.
