<p>Be mindful that some of those selective schools that don’t have an additional supplement DO have a separate application for scholarships. We discovered this the hard way last year. </p>
<p>My son was awarded wonderful scholarships and/or offered to be in special programs in every college he applied, but he did not submit the scholarship applications to Vanderbilt or WashU. I keep wondering if he could have gotten something at WashU, because that’s where he ended up going. In retrospect, write the supplemental essay! It could mean a $1,000 per sentence.</p>
