<p>The two are similar in culture, as was said above. (Although you will meet plenty of “quirky” UChicago kids at either.) Both have relatively large houses–you may not end up knowing everyone in your house if you live in Max P or South. </p>
<p>Max P has suites with semi-private bathrooms (four to a bathroom, but you have to clean them yourself), while South is a more traditional setup with communal bathrooms. South eats at South and Max P eats at Bartlett–not that there’s such a huge difference between the two. Both are pretty close to their respective dining halls. And of course there’s location–IMO you won’t really feel the difference unless you plan to be at, say, the bio building or Ratner a lot. (Both are clear across campus from South.) And even then it’s not that bad.</p>
