Gender-neutral housing means that you could have a SUITEMATE of the same gender or the different gender (hence the word “neutral”). We don’t have any housing where your actual roommate sleeping in the same room as you is a different gender. Gender-neutral housing has two singles connected by a bathroom. No one is in your actual room, and the person in the other room could be male or female.

Note that you need to contact housing directly to make sure your request for gender-neutral housing goes through. As of now, that group is mainly upperclassmen.

Suites are only in certain buildings, and you can’t request particular buildings. Sometimes you’ll get lucky- for instance if you pick a particular LLC and it happens to get placed in a suite-style dorm. But the LLCs have been moving around a lot in the past few years, so it’s hard to bet on where you’ll end up.
