i thought most of the dorms at Harvard looked like run down apartment buildings, keeney is at least clearly a dorm

EWWW MICE IN WAYLAND and Goddard!!!1

I see the lighting is pretty bad in some photos. And the furniture loooked all rickety. But so long as the essentials are working fine - well, that’s OK for me. Its a dorm after all.

The IMP page recommends that we buy sheets and pillow cases here instead of shipping them over. Advisable?

you’ll probably end up buying a lamp or two. Those octopus lamps with 6 lights do wondering and cost between 15 and 20 at linens and thing or Walmart. All my furniture has been ok. As you are in singapore I’d say buy sheets here. you can find some okay priced stuff…they have dorm specials at all the local area bedding/bath supply stores during the first two weeks of school.

Do the dorms have kitchens or community lounge areas?
Also, are there organized dorm groups? To promote bonding and such…

This has already been discussed before. Next…?

Yes, most dorms have kitchens, though how many varies greatly. Lounge space is based upon housing as sometimes transfers live in the lounges and they are converted into triples. Yes, housing is organized into freshman units, and after your first year there are various ways to live in group housing like situations.
