<p>I emailed a former classmate of mine who goes to uchicago, and this is what she said:</p>

B-J is all singles, and the people tend to be kind of introverted and wierd, also its kind of far from most stuff on campus. Max P is very central, very nice, and very new. Its humongous, so there’s a huge variety of people. Its probably the best choice for you, and you probably have a good chance of getting it. I’m living in Pierce, which I think is the coolest, it certainly has the most character. Our dining hall is in our dorm (B-J’s is as well, though their food is terrible, Max P’s is in a separate building and their food is slightly better). Our rooms are tiny but cozy and I really don’t mind how small it is. I think Pierce is the most social of the dorms, we are in each other’s rooms all the time, and the house lounge is used a lot too. Our bathrooms are kind of funky but I’m not very picky about that stuff. So I guess if you want a more hygenic looking newer more generic thing, I would go for Max P, but if you’re willing to risk a little for a possibly better social atmosphere, go Pierce. You’ve got the right idea on the whole though, definitely don’t do any of the farther away dorms, its really frickin’ cold and you don’t want to have to walk that far.
