munchkin, I’ve seen 2.55s popping up on Yoogi’s for a bit less than the current price (which, apparently, will go up), if you do not mind a pre-owned bag in great condition. I bought a LV clutch from them and was impressed - the bag was in a much better condition than their photos and description indicated.

I’m off to check the Nordstrom’s sale. I expect the place to be a zoo, even this late into the game. Maybe I can find some flip flops similar to Gourmetmom’s!

Thank you BunsenBurner. I just came back from NYC and indeed the prices are going up. Apparently that is because Chanel is making them with a double flap instead of a single flap. I have never heard of Yoogi’s and will check it out. Wished I had bought that lambskin 2.55 many moons ago at half price (Boxing Day sale at Chanel) for $600 but I was saving for college then. I suppose I have the budget now but there is a mental boundary I don’t seem able to cross regards to spending four figures on a purse.

Bunsen: the Born Adele flats you like are on sale at Nordstrom now, in black and taupe. Lots of flats and sandals on sale there now. (Wish it was warm enough to wear sandals in our neck of the woods!)

bookiemom, thanks! I tried the new Adeles, but, unfortunately, my foot is in between 8 1/2 and 9, so they no longer work for me. :(

I ran through the flagship store last night. All of the best stuff was, apparently, “pre-sold” during the weekend. I was looking for a white or creme colored blazer for the upcoming summer, but there were none in my size left.

I recently bought purple Born Lovely flats at Nordstrom Rack and find them more comfortable than the Adele style.

I don’t like this pre-sale stuff at Nordstrom. You have to know how to play the game (and spend enough at Nordstrom to get the pre-sale entry) in order to get the best things at the sale price. I don’t buy that much from regular Nordstrom any more. I like the Rack better.

I will check that style, bookiemom! Thanks!

Absolutely hate the “pre-sale” games, too. I also hate how the website empties out 2 days before the official start of the sale. I suspect that returns will be trickling in soon, so I might be able to get something. The funny thing is that the small sizes vanish right away, and the bigger sizes sit on the shelves longer. It used to be just the opposite. Have we all got slimmer?

Yes, I’m buying clothes with more . . . shall we say . . . engagement in the investment. Not really spending more overall. This thread has changed how I think of clothes and . . . by extension . . . how I think of my life. Didn’t Shakespeare say something about the world being a stage and we are all actors upon it? Our clothes . . . aka . . . costumes do matter in how we act upon this planet.

Mathmom, I loooove looking at shoes, too. Those Gucci heels… I would not even attempt to try them on (although Gucci makes very wearable 3 inch heels). The shoes you picked - yes, those are my kind of sandals! Wedge heel, sensible height.

(Alumother: yD came from colledge and tried to expropriate the Sperrys. Tough luck! D says the shoes are very much “hip”. She wants a pair, too. I think the shoes fit the “dressing young” theme well. Thank you!!! )

I like it the meaning behind these earrings too

“The hope egg earrings- a very attractive and important symbol in Russian culture, traditionally given for birthdays, festivals, etc. This egg represents hope and new life and is decorated with white topaz and with white rhodolite.”

Gourmetmom, I found very similar looking DVF flip flops at Off 5th today! I think I ended up paying $30 for them. Thank you for posting a detailed review. If it weren’t for your recommendation, I would have passed them because of the leather footbed. The flip flops are amazingly comfortable, and I was able to walk more than a mile in them (normally, I rarely wear flip flops). I’m afraid that my college kid will try to steal them from me.

I am feeling smug today over the new outfit I wore last night to an outdoor/indoor cocktails and buffet type event. It was super comfortable and well within budget:

The dress, a departure for me as I almost never wear prints:

The fit was perfect - there is light boning (sp?) in the bodice so the dress is very flattering. I wore it with white wedge sandals & a short turquoise cardigan to a concert during graduation weekend and felt quite springy and youthful. DD never saw the dress but gave her blessings.

D’s graduation was a three day affair with events in the morning, afternoon, and night. A fun challenge for dressing young!

Wnp, Clinton and Stacy would be very proud of your outfits! It sounds like you had a great time at your D’s graduation event. We attended a graduation ceremony of our exchange student. I was very impressed how festive everyone looked. Despite the cooer than usual weather, ladies wore sundresses with cropped jackets or cardigans, and men wore slacks and nicer shirts.

wnp, I have that dress! But I bought it last year, so I am sure I paid more than you did! I have a black cropped short sleeved cardigan I wear with it; like the sound of yours better.

Just got these in the mail. Had tried them on and loved them at Bloomingdale’s and then found them on Zappos for $50 less. They are just sublimely comfortable.
