I went to Macy’s today and OMG, it was like a zoo, not b/c of a lot of people, it’s because the clothes were so unorganized. I found a couple of tops from INC and they were so cheap! Discount on top of discount. What is up with Macy’s? The store acts like they are out of business and they give out so many coupons. I am worried that it’s going out of business soon - any thoughts?
p.s. I have mild OCD so the sight of unorganized clothes stressed me out a a little lol
p.p.s I wish people post the pictures of their outfits I come here often to find inspiration…
@MomofWildChild , so how long were you able to wear your Coatigan inside? I wore mine today to lunch and lasted about an hour. I wasn’t hot, or even that warm, but still felt like I had a coat on. Felt like just too much bulk sitting there. I really think it’s meant to be a lightweight coat outdoors.
I’ll wear it again like this if it’s really cold, but it would have too be no higher than low 40’s for me. I need to go strolling outside somewhere! Ha!
I had mine on until about an hour after lunch and then my office gets a lot of sun and it got too hot. I did put it back on when I went elsewhere in the building, but it definitely has the feel of a light coat. On a cloudy day I would have lasted longer. It is so cute, but really not the most practical item since it is not-a-sweater/not-a-coat.
@conmama, I did not! I was tempted- loved the colors - but at least initially when presented here my size was not available and I wasn’t going to be near a brick and mortar. I don’t do well with heavy items so I’m thinking it was a good decision for me NOT to get it.
Back to the return/throwaway concern, I wonder if one solution is to shop online with stores that have discount warehouses/salvage stores. For example, there is an Eddie Bauer warehouse and salvage store in my town that is obviously their returns and slightly damaged clothing. We used to have a JCPenney outlet at the distribution center that was the same. I’m not talking about the outlet stores like in the outlet malls, but what looks more like a warehouse/distribution place that is for returns. Just an idea!
Has anyone tried the Lululemon velour legging? I saw it in an email this morning and it looks like it would be comfortable to wear with a longer top and boots.
I don’t have the lululemon velour but I did buy the Athleta ones. I love them , I was worried that they would be only for the holidays but I’ve worn them since and love them. Mine are super comfortable.
My only issue that I’ve been hearing with lululemon lately is that they have a new return policy. They used to be very generous with defective merchandise but they have clamped down. Since I am not fond of their short return period, all of their sale merchandise is final sale and now this, I am finding that I am trying to frequent Athleta instead. Where in my experience, the sales people have been really nice and I can return sales stuff if it doesn’t work out.
But I saw those velour leggings at lululemon and they are really cute.
@deb922, in my opinion Lulu is higher quality than Athleta (and of course generally more expensive). I gather lots of Athleta clothes are really not meant to be worn for exercise. Everything I’ve purchased from Lulu has lasted well when using for exercise. I was frustrated when some leggings I got from Athleta were kind of showing wear at the tops of the legs (I used them for biking at the gym). The sales people at my store said “oh yeah, they’re not really meant for exercising” or something like that (These were pretty standard looking black leggings - I had no idea there would be a problem). Lulu legging have lasted well through many gym trips.
I assure you, plenty of Athleta stuff IS for exercise. The majority of my exercise wear is from Athleta and I’ve never had an item wear out even after years of wear. And I exercise to a sweaty ball of mess at least 4 times a week!
From headbands to bras, from running skorts to fleece lined leggings.
