Driving from Princeton to Boston around rush hour

OP again, checking back in. I took thumper’s route and it worked great. We left Princeton around 7 pm and arrived in Boston five hours later. Other than a minor delay in Connecticut due to a lane closure, it was smooth sailing.

Thanks everyone!

Glad it worked out for you! I did the reverse trip to Allentown PA today. I decided the Tappanzee was going to be fine at 10:00. Well…it was a horrible drive…construction on 684, accident along the way that stopped the traffic.

I should have gone avoided that route myself!

Thumper

How do you feel if you have to commute every day on that route from Bergen County NJ to Stamford CT in rush hour? I did that for 3 YEARS. The money was good, but at the end I quit.

I do cut into the Tappanzee at the last minute from NJ, but the 684 and 95 is unavoidable.

I have to admit, I drove on the shoulders many times a day and was never caught. :)
