D's decision arrived today

lucky and blue…My daughter did not apply to Delaware. She has a friend who got in there and I have only heard really nice things about the school. There was a question on the Syracuse site of CC about Syracuse and Delaware and so I responded because my heart will always belong to Syracuse. We went to look at JMU last April and my daughter fell in love with it while we wee still in the parking lot. There was just something that really caught her eye. We did the tour and it was packed with kids and the tour guide was excellent. It was a beautiful day and the campus is just beautiful. We ate in the dining room and she liked the food and she just liked the entire atmosphere of the place. We had looked at Salisbury a few days before that but she loved JMU so much more once we got there. We went to Syracuse with a friend in May. She liked it but did not love it. Honestly, I was disappointed because I wanted her to love it. Not that she had to go there but I just hoped she would like it. I think the reasons she was not crazy about it was because the kids were all gone. It was not cold but it was cloudy and we saw no sun. It’s hard to really get a feel for the school when it is empty. We were going to go back but she got into JMU and this is where she has wanted to go from the beginning, We did get some money from SU so that was nice but honestly it is still expensive and before I plunk down almost $50K a year I want her to LOVE it not just like it a little. Hope this helps. When we went to SU she did meet with the Social Work dept head and that was great and that is one nice thing about that school, you get accepted right into your program. Hope this helps…be glad to answer any more questions.
