I’m not sure if this completely answers your question, but here goes:

According to their website,
“Students may not receive credit for both an AP exam and a college course taken before high school graduation covering the same subject matter, nor for an AP and an IB exam covering the same subject matter.”
[USC ARR : Articulation : Advanced Placement Exams](http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/apexams.html)

It sounds like you are able to receive credit for “a college course taken before high school graduation” (It just can’t be combined with an AP course to receive 4 more units) although I think the maximum number of units an incoming freshman can accumulate before actually starting is 32.
