<p>Duct tape worked for me. I went to a dermatologist, who did the freezing thing – didn’t work. Used duct tape, and it disappeared. I’ve used it on several warts, all successful.</p>
<p>For those of you who used duck tape successfully: How did you keep it on in the shower? Or did you just faithfully replace it after every shower? And I think we have been using too much tape; it sounds like we should just use enough to cover the warts. I was thinking that a bigger piece would stay on better. I like the idea of combining the duck tape with the salicyclic acid treatment.</p>
<p>Duct tape worked better than cryogenics for DD - a small amount, just to cover the wart, reapplied after the shower or as needed.</p>
<p>DD got rid of her warts with duct tape and salicylic acid as well. She used just enough duct tape to cover the affected area (and just enough so it would stay put).</p>
<p>Several years ago I ended up with a wart on my foot after going through airport security barefoot. (They’d just changed the rules so had to remove my sandals; this was before they had the booties out.)</p>
<p>Remembering the painful and ineffective freezing method I suffered through in college, I searched the net and found a technique many people raved about:</p>
<p>Right before going to bed each night, I took a bit of cotton (pulled some off a Q-tip) and let it soak a few seconds in some apple cider vinegar. (I had poured a little bit into its bottle cap.) I covered the wart with the soaked cotton and used tape to keep it in place. Any tape will do; I used some clear packing tape, since we had a lot of it. Each morning I took the tape and cotton off. Didn’t do anything else. Just repeated the process each night “for up to two weeks.”</p>
<p>After a few nights of this I noticed that the good skin was separating from the wart. And just like I was told, eventually I could just pop the wart right out. This happened around day 8 or 9. Must have gotten the whole thing, as it never came back.</p>
<p>I’m sure it won’t work for every situation, but it’s such an easy, painless, inexpensive and convenient process, it’s worth trying.</p>
<p>I have never heard of this! My son has his first wart on the side of one of his fingers. Being someone who has never had one, I’m like “yuck!”. His doctor suggested OTC meds first - I bought some freezing kit deal but we haven’t applied it yet. </p>
<p>So you just wrap the duct tape over the area??? (I don’t know if he’d be willing to have his finger wrapped - he just finished two weeks of a finger splint for a soccer injury…</p>

<p>My sister is a dancer and has warts all the time. Normally the duct tape will take care of them in about 2 weeks</p>
<p>We suggest putting neosporin (tiny bit) on the wart then putting on the duct tape…it seems to work faster like that</p>
<p>I have a wart on the side of my finger right now. It’s the first one I’ve ever had! Been there for a few months. I tried the over the counter freezing solution but it didn’t work at all. I’m going to try the duct-tape now. I’ll get back to you.</p>
<p>My son had warts on his fingers and one on the top of a toe. He had a couple of freezing treatments by the dermatologist. They were very painful. The toe had a HUGE blister on top, but once that was gone, the wart was gone. The finger warts didn’t respond as well. But one day, out of the blue, I noticed that they were practically gone! I think that the stress of his college decision had something to do with it…when he finally made his decision on where to go, the warts started improving. I say this because the last freezing treatment was several months before.</p>
<p>Another son has a plantar wart on the bottom of his foot (thank you, YMCA!). He’s used the OTC stuff. He’s also used duct tape (sporadically). I just read in the paper that vinegar can get rid of warts (Dr. Gott), which makes sense because of the acid. I’ve also read that hydrogen peroxide can can get rid of them, too. I’m not sure what has made his wart finally go away – could be a combination of duct tape and hydrogen peroxide.</p>
