I’m not sure if you’re going OT/NT with that concept @albert69 but if that’s the case the Duggars are certainly not very NT in most of their public dealings.
I’m sitting here this morning with my very straight hair (it laughs at curling irons) feeling very ungodly. Gothard must feel that natural Afros are very godly as they usually are very curly. I can’t not imagine living like these people.
You can learn their curled hair styling techniques — just in case you have lots of extra time.

There are pages and pages of a police report that seems to date back to 2006 when someone found a letter about the molestations in a book the Duggars lent out to another family. The police DID know about this. This seems to be a massive cover-up http://imgur.com/a/zqPMi#11 There are pages and pages of one or more reports about multiple incidents in the bedrooms, laundry room, when he was reading them a book, etc. I dont have the stomach to read them all.
Oops the link to the imgur copy of the police report is ***ed out. The link can be found in this article http://www.people.com/article/online-commenter-warned-josh-duggar-molestation in this paragraph, whre the words “police report” are clickable:
@jym626 - by the time this was discovered and investigated by the police, the statute of limitations had run. Here is a link to our local (Arkansas) newspaper article that ran a couple of days ago. The article indicates that a reporter had seen a juvenile file connected to a case/trial that occurred in August of 2007. Nothing is known about that particular trial as that record is sealed.

“I agree. One of the problems people have is that they don’t understand what parts of the Bible do and do not apply to them. I wouldn’t say that I try to live under every sentence of the Bible because it’s not all written to me. But that’s getting too philosophical, so I’ll quit.”
The problem is not that people don’t know which parts of the bible apply to them, as they are free to pick and choose as they see fit. And if I want to pick and choose that I shouldn’t eat pork but it’s ok to mix linen and wool, how does it impact anyone? The problem is that people seem to think that the teachings of their bible should apply to everybody.
A 3 year statute of limitation on child molestation is barbaric. The child may be scarred for life. Even in my backwards state the statute runs through 5 years from the age of majority.
Bingo @Pizzagirl!
If you would like to contact TLC’s parent company to let them know how you feel about this matter, here is the link http://corporate.discovery.com/contact/viewer-relations/ The site had crashed on Friday, but it’s up and running today.
@jym626 - the Arkansas statute has changed since that happened. I am not sure how long the SOL runs now nor from what point in time it begins running, but it was altered to encompass a longer time frame.
ETA: Here is a lnk from a news story to February 2013 about Arkansas’s most recent change. It appears in between 2006/2007 and 2013 there was some sort of intermediate change that allowed offenses to be prosecuted until the victim was 28.

TLC should change their name to TVC. The voyeurism channel.
@Onward Well…you know what they say, “The higher the hair, the closer to God.” pats fro
So if the statute has been extended, can Duggar be charged? We don’t know what the case in 2007 was about nor the outcome, so dont know if it would constitute double jeopardy. We don’t know if the behavior persisted or if there were other victims besides the 5 mentioned. I worry about his kids.
They wouldn’t be a voyeurism channel if voyeurs didn’t watch.
True, and I don’t. I have never understood the attraction of shows like the Duggars, honey Booboo etc. I admit I do enjoy the competition type “reality” shows like so you think you can dance and project runway. Can’t stand the others like the peering into people’s day to day lives and the bachelor type which I think are gross. (My son was asked if he’d try out for an upcoming bachelor series. His response “hell no”. He was horrified )
I pretty much stick to HGTV and re-runs of Seinfeld and Will & Grace. An occasional drama or sitcom, but no “reality” shows.
Serious question: What do the Duggars/Evangelicals/People who follow Gothard believe about masturbation? Is it a sin? A reasonable thing to do before marriage??
Agree @swimcatsmom - now that I am off Say Yes to the Dress my new chilling and resting my brain show is Chopped. I like that there are no ads for offensive shows.
I watch on Netflix and Hulu, sometimes Amazon Prime. Haven’t looked to see if reality shows are available, not interested.
We were approached by the local ABC affiliate to follow my oldest around during her first day of school when she was 6, but I declined. I thought the first day of a new school would be difficult enough without a camera spying on her. She later was on the public station for just a short bit, but I wasn’t even there to be asked permission!
( actually twice, once with her class and once when she was waiting outside the swimming pool for her class to finish)
What happened with Say Yes to the Dress?
