Jill and Jessa and their spouses need to take their families off the screen (while they can, while their children are small - and not even born yet) and make their living like the majority of young couples do - work hard with no cameras around to broadcast their trips to the grocery store.
And no offense, while I always thought Jessa had a little bit of “rebel” in her, Jill IMO is yawn…so totally not entertaining!
I am totally outraged by the part of the ATI curriculum I saw. One of the study questions was something like “Would you choose sexual abuse or being strong in the spirit”. The implication is plain that if you’re sexually abused, you should be able to just pray and ta da, all better. If you are angry or feel hurt, well, you’re just not spiritually strong enough. When I read that whole section, I felt like I was inside the head of the abuser himself, listening to what he would say to excuse himself and lay all the blame for emotional damage on the victim. That’s purely disgusting.
Marriage is hard work, especially being newlyweds. The last thing they need are cameras. Ask Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey how that worked out.

So, he was only told of ONE incident by Jim-Bob (who knew of at least 5) and his “stern lecture” was the only punishment Josh received other than some sort of religious work camp.
The whole thing stinks. TLC should not have any spin off shows with the Duggars.
I care about the Duggars because their politics of hate affect members of my family. I’m so glad their hypocrisy has been revealed. I can’t believe anyone on here watches any of the brain rot on TLC. Here is a link to the police report. It is heavily redacted. Note it is not a juvenile’s arrest record: it is a police report and a summary of the interviews of the many victims. No one has published an arrest record for Josh because he was not arrested. The prosecutor quickly determined the statute of limitations had expired and the matter was referred to DSS/CPS. It is uncommon for entire police investigations to be destroyed. They are often marked “unfounded” or “exceptional clearance” and filed and forgotten; but not destroyed.

Dan Savage wants to coin a new word - ‘duggary’. One suggestion - ‘a frothy mix of molestation, church and bad hairdos’.

If half of the things on this thread- above and beyond the Josh thing- are true, it really blows my mind that CPS is not investigating.
IMO, this is the very definition of white, male, upper class, Christian privilege in this country. Not a knock on ANY of these characteristics but does anyone really think that if this was a black family or poor family that CPS wouldn’t be far more likely to be involved?
I am firmly of the belief that consenting adults can do whatever they darn well please. If that means joining a crazy cult church, be my guest! When you start doing things the Duggars have (allegedly) done- you’ve crossed the line. And sorry, I consider forcing your children to be homeschooled in radical religion, barred from higher education, forcing them to essentially be parents so you can keep popping out kids and touring the country to tell other people what they’re doing wrong, and then marrying off the women so they can continue to be under a man’s control and becoming their own baby factory to be abuse. It is not merely a matter of different lifestyle choices. IMO, it is nothing short of abuse.
Well, romani, you can believe it is abuse but it is not under the laws of any state. Even the physical discipline is okay in most states. The homeschooling program is accepted in most states too.
