Duke 2015 ED applicants

i’ve had my tab the whole time

The tab most certainly means nothing if it’s changing for people. Their decisions are not changing.

i just realized that i have to be at school at 6:30 on tuesday for a concert… it’s going to be a long night

6pm for you guys, 11pm for me…
Do you know if international results come out at the same time?

also, on the website it says “beginning” 6pm on december 14th, so I guess it could come out after too

With the changing tabs, it could be they realized that they are giving people an early hint on their decision so they just changed it
Back to
Normal

If we all call admissions enough times, do you think they’ll release the decisions sooner?
:P

I’ve had my tab the entire time. What do you think that means?

That’s a lot less likely than it just being an artifact of server maintenance

@ 4everyoung
I was just thinking that exact same thing. I called them yesterday. Surely they should get annoyed enough to go ahead and release them :)

Oh man, it feels so good to know the exact day. That whole “it could be tomorrow” bit was getting pretty crazy. (Plus, now that there’s an official statement, the ■■■■■■ have less to work with.)

So, here’s the new counter, incase anyone is interested:
[Full Screen Countdown to Dec 14, 2010 6:00 PM in Raleigh](<a href=“Full Screen Countdown to Dec 14, 2010 6:00 pm in Raleigh”>Full Screen Countdown to Dec 14, 2010 6:00 pm in Raleigh)

We’ve hit the ideal time for that email again…hopefully it’ll actually come this time.

If decisions are coming out Tuesday I don’t think they’ll be e-mailing us tonight

has anyone looked at previous years decisions and whether the tab meant anything?

well in previous years the decision has not been released on the applicant checklist website

I highly doubt the tab is significant. We are only stressing ourselves out.

Even if it does mean something, there’s nothing we can do about it.

@alexis6 I’ve read the countdown threads for the past 5 years or so,and none of them talked about the tab at all. However, they all used a different site to see their decision, sooooo this year is a little different. :/

I feel the tabs indicated something about the status of each applicant. Now that its confirmed that they are using the same website strengthens this argument. Also it makes sense that everyone would get their tabs back today if it did mean something because they also posted the official decision date on their website and would have probably noticed the discrepancy. Although technology has its pitfalls I think in this case it would be hard to justify why some people for a period of time would be able to change their information and why some people would not be. As others have stated it will be interesting to see if our predictions are right about the correlation between people’s tabs status and their decision status.

what is everyone’s take on the tabs?

accepted–did not have tabs before?
rejected–did have tabs before?

it’s most likely an artifact of server maintenance. The chances of it meaning anything are very low.
