@fhskid Congrats!!! I don’t want to sound rude or anything, but does Egyptian really count as black? I was under the impression that Middle Eastern and Northern African people have to put white on the common app (I’m mid east). Again, congrats man. That’s great!
@alamom is your son’s last name near the end of the alphabet or did he submit close to the deadline? Not to intrude, just wondering how the admission committee looks at applications 
@mdbluedevil Last name is at the beginning and he got his in before the cutoff for interviews (sometime in December). Unfortunately he was never offered an interview.

Really, thats so odd to me! That’s definitely not rude! I’m a bit conflicted because I mean it is literally on the continent of Africa! I’m sure otherwise they wouldnt have contacted me, I contacted the coordinator to double check! I also checked with a few of my counselor for opinions (many of whom are black) and they agreed that it does “count.” But Thanks though bro!
I received my acceptance letter with notification of being a finalist for the AB Duke Scholarship today, and I applied as a maths major.
This is in response to someone earlier asking about LLs for math majors, post 345.

I got a physical letter, though supposedly information was sent to my e-mail (I didn’t receive any though …)The envelope is dated for the 10th of March, but I only received it yesterday (3/14) and all the information for it is due tomorrow (3/16).
