@Eastley it’s done through the College Board on IDOC. You upload those forms there, then select which colleges you want to have access to them. If you upload them and select Duke as one of the recipients Duke will have them in a day or two. It will show on your IDOC account when they have been received by the institutions you select. Once received, it will show up on your Duke applicant portal with the green check mark.
I thought you complete the IDOC when the college accepted you and you decided to go to that college. It says, “Signed copies of Parents’ 2015 Federal Tax Returns and all Schedules or a Non-Filer form if a return was not filed.”
There may be some colleges out there with that policy,@Eastley, but for most, and for Duke, you turn those in as part of the application process. They have you do that so you can get your financial aid award at the same time as your admissions decision, because a lot of people need the financial aid data to help decide which college to attend. I don’t think it will be too big of a deal if you turn them in now. Or you can call the FA dept and ask if you can just wait till after you find out whether or not you’ve been admitted before (going through all the work of) submitting the financial documents. I think some people do that anyway, if money is not a super big deal and doesn’t weigh heavily into their choice of which college to go to. If you have the docs readily available you can just upload them now onto IDOC, or if that’s problematic you can call FA and ask their advice.
@DeadShot I got the finalist letter too! Do you have any idea what sort of questions they will ask? and whether being a finalist has any bearing on the admission?
@zeedoq I heard a couple of days ago through email.
@zulfism I don’t really have any idea lol. Was pretty surprised when I got the notification. I’ve heard that finalists are pretty much guaranteed admission but you never know so fingers crossed! Have you heard anything regarding this?
Did anyone get the Reginaldo Howard scholarship???
For those who have gotten scholarships- where did they show up on the website? Financial aid? I haven’t gotten any messages either denying or confirming a scholarship
The notifs are via email @alatoff
@hotpotatoe254 For everyone? Or just those who win one?
I haven’t heard of anyone winning two. But all my friends who won one each received them through email
@hotpotatoe254 oh sorry! I meant do they email everyone- even the kids who won none
No I don’t think they notify everyone regardless because then there would be a lot more posts on CC about kids who are bummed because they got the “no scholarship” notification @alatoff
Wait so are decisions coming out April 1 or March 24
