I’m a regular decision international applicant but why did I exactly receive this email? It says about releasing result for deferred students but there’s nothing about regular decision students…???
@VaishS Same, only accepted to Mich and Rutgers. Everywhere else has been a slaughter fest for me LOL. Anything better than what I have now is only a blessing.
I got four rejections this week…
Duke is in my top three so this is definitely one of the most important decisions I’ll be getting
I believe the reason is that Duke wants the applicants to have privacy in the event of good, not so good and bad news. Picture three students all together opening their decisions and having an acceptance, a wait list and a rejection. Even a dad realizes that this would be awkward. In my opinion, this is a moment to be with your family to share in the joy or comfort in the case of disappointment. Given the Duke regular decision acceptance rate, the vast majority will not receive the good news they are hoping for so Duke is being thoughtful. Good luck to all.
Ok so I’m just a regular decision applicant who have applied to Duke for the first time. Why did I get this email? It doesn’t say anything about RD decision releasing date. Can someone help me?

This has been a weird day. Got the email for Duke saying decisions were coming out at 7. Get excited/nervous about that, then 10 or so minutes later got an email from northwestern that the decisions were out. Checked that rejection, then anxiously refreshed, logged out and back in multiple times at 7, watched the movie I was at, came home, checked again. Came on here to figure out what was up, read all this and now I realize I just have to wait another week… Probably another rejection and tbh Duke has moved down my list since I applied, but I’d like to get into at least one of my reach schools. 0/2 so far, woo hoo!
Duke has actually moved up my list… I kinda wish I had ED’d
Is Duke one of those schools that fills up a lot of its class with ED admits leaving barely any space for RD?
Same for me. Email from Duke freaked me out then Rejection from NW completely shattered my self esteem hahahaha. Duke was probably the most competitive school I’ve applied to so I’m really not expecting much. Still nervous about the decision tho!! Best of luck to everyone! 
@graceann half of the class is usually filled up ED. That is typical for most schools; however, Duke’s yield is quite low so about 3500 will probably be admitted next Thursday. The RD rate should be about 10%. Overall should be 11ish%
