I got in without all checkmarks on my financial aid stuff
Deferred and rejected
Accepted!
ACCEPTED!!! Started sobbing. I was a Robertson semifinalist and had a great interview!
Oh my god I’m giving up and eating dinner. Still not ready. In the same time zone too (FL)
Mine STILL says decision not ready?!!
My D Accepted!
I just realized I never got interviewed for Duke… :-/ Guess you don’t need it to get accepted.
Financial aid won’t be out until about 4/2. It’s not available with your decision
My sister got accepted to Duke 2022! Unfortunately, I got rejected We had similar stats, extracurriculars, and awards and were the top 2 in our class. I think the reason for the difference in our outcomes is probably our essays. Oh well! Still have some great options here in Canada!
I got in but when i try to look at my FA i see " “You are not authorized to access this component. (40,20)” does this mean i was accidently accepted?!?! my worst fear to be accepted then rejected again
this is when i went to respond to my offer
@Tommyboy8765 The college app process at this level is crazy and there is no rhyme or reason to it. You have wonderful options to pick from and you’re going to be great wherever you end up.
To any others who might some comfort in this, I remember coming to Blue Devils Day and one of the first things they told us were how many valedictorians they rejected that year, just to make the point that stats aren’t everything. I know every school says they’re process is holistic but my impression is Duke takes its class-building extremely seriously. For those of you who didn’t make it, it wasn’t because you weren’t good/competitive enough. There is just simply no way to control who applies any given year and what the class shapes up to be. Sometimes they just simply have too many artists or too many musicians or too many athletes and it’s just the luck of the draw. Everyone here has worked extremely hard throughout high school, and while this can be an emotional time, it’s worth taking a moment to celebrate what you have been able to achieve and get excited about the places you all are going.
To those accepted, congratulations!
@applicant1313 I know but I actually think schools like Duke are harder to get into than Harvard, Penn ect, because admissions at Duke is so allusive. You pretty much can never predict who will be admitted and acceptance rate is around 6%. It’s a complete crapshoot. But congrats on your acceptance! I’m sure you are off to great things!
Mine still says decision not ready. What does this mean???
@applicant1313 Yep! I got into UCLA and UC Berkeley as well but this is definitely the most selective school I’ve gotten into. After taking Ls from Yale, Princeton and Harvard yesterday I thought that there was no hope so I’m so happy now omg :(( I also remember seeing you on different threads and we had really similar experiences with the no interview / Ivy neglect so I hope for the best for both of us!
@Tommyboy8765 true that, ty and congrats on your acceptances too. I’m sure you’re also starting a great journey into the future!
@applicant1313 okay that is a comforting I didn’t either and I honestly completely forgot to send another rec letter. Congrats!!!
@collegesavant1 same dying.
Accepted!!!
