I’m assuming that everyone also received the email from Duke also.

Got an email from Duke stating the same content on the portal last night - they’re ahead by a few days on the email

Just an early Good Luck to all ED applicants tonight. No idea of numbers but I’d expect little decrease in applicants and similar acceptance rates from last year.

There’s a lot of factors in the process many having nothing to do with academic readiness. We will see…

What’s odd though is the amount of discussion on here compared to this time last year is way down. I think morning of, there were over 500 comments and we’re sitting at 65. I honestly think there were less ED applications this year, at least at Duke.

There’s no press release either yet. Historically Duke has a chronicle article revealing stats. Maybe we’d need to wait some more for the details to come out.

I agree. It traditionally comes out when they announce when decisions are being released. This year has definitely been odd.

I was wondering the same about a press release. I wasn’t sure if they typically send the press release before or after they checked their portals.

Good luck everyone!

feel free to ask me any questions you may have!!

Typically before

Please just keep posting, everyone! Reading these makes me feel like I’m getting some kind of information and gives me something to do. Fooling myself into thinking it will somehow be helpful when I know that Duke is an incredibly long shot. Losing my mind waiting for 7PM! Feels like we’ve been holding our breath for weeks alongside DS. Good luck to all awaiting results!

Is anyone seeing an error after login? This seems new and admissions office is closed

When my 2018 daughter was admitted RD, the page was down for a period of time before the decision release that day.

Essays,LOR are imo well prepared

Awards: a couple regional competitions and some accolades for the research and its program here in NC

No hooks whatsoever

Apologize for that last post was attempting to write a couple items:
Have watched these posts for last few years attempting to get a general idea of stats required for different schools since I’m applying now as a senior. I’d agree- seems very quiet this year on this one. Read extensive data from College board regarding applications since Covid.

Northeast had a surge of ED increases- example is BC +50% this year. Selective schools are being targeted as possible acceptances whereas prior scores would have tamped it down.TO definitely in play. I feel for students that have a ā€œdream schoolā€ especially legacy which feel somewhat slighted at times but these schools are again accepting on many factors.
The first acceptance was posted by a QB applicant accepted and its imo the way it should be; diversity is important to Duke and a reason I applied ED coming from rural NC.
Again GL.

Lastly I’ll post stats prior to decisions. Looking at prior years I don’t have a good idea about chances.

4.0uw/ 4.65 W with another 4 additional college grade of A first quarter

1/200

Very rural NC school
12 DE with another 3-4 next semester for 15 total

Research , 1.5 Years with Journal publication pending last revision.

770m/740v sat

Thanks @hopewhite25 - I was freaking out for a few. Worried more for my son - we’re ready for the decision tonight

I read an article that said that if they aren’t boasting about breaking the record, then it is lower than last year. Yale posted their stats and its lower, not by a lot, but it didn’t exceed last year.
