Duke also recently announced it will pay its employees and contractors $15/hour by 2019. I think this is a really symbolic move that shows Duke’s commitment to social equity. I’m also curious what the economic effects will be, as in effect this new policy could act as a Keynesian multiplier for the rest of the Durham community. Any econ majors wanna tackle this? Hehe
