Hey, Berurah - chill The thing is, both you and Sokkermom are completely misinterpreting Epistrophy’s point - to the extent that you’re “defending” your position from a statement which is actually agreeing with you! Her whole point is that she (and Razorsharp, and others) don’t lump various different people together as one “community” just because they’re all white. She wasn’t “lumping” your kids in with any other kids - she was pointing out that that kind of guilt by association isn’t as prevalent when dealing with white people as white people as it is when dealing with various minorities as a group.

By leaping up to protest that your poor but honest kids shouldn’t be lumped together with the rich kids at Duke you just emphasized the point that Epistrophy was making. :)

You’re one of my favorite posters, berurah!! {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}

The testimony from Dr. Brian Meehan at the trial this morning has been pretty damaging to Nifong. KC Johnson has been blogging live. He noted that the N & O has a funny picture from a restaurant in Raleigh that is advertising one of their specials!! Toasted Nifong!!

You may be an attorney (I think), but I have no idea what your point is in that last post. I re-read it a couple of times and it makes no sense to me at all.

You said: "By leaping up to protest that your poor but honest kids shouldn’t be lumped together with the rich kids at Duke you just emphasized the point that Epistrophy was making. "

^ I never said anything like that, nor was it implied. You have no idea if my kid is poor or honest. You don’t know anything about him, and that’s the way it should be. ;)

Um, aren’t you able to appreciate a little sarcasm when you see it? Did you really think I was SERIOUS when I said to leave my “poor” kid out of the AFFLUENT group??? (We’re not THAT poor! ) Oh my. You can talk in circles all day, but it doesn’t make your (or epistrophy’s) false claim about razorsharp’s (or my) posts any more valid. It may be the only (lame) argument you have, kluge. But that’s not MY fault! ;)

Fact is, epistrophy GROSSLY misinterpreted razorsharp’s post, and in so doing, did EXACTLY what YOU have accused ME of doing…defeated his very own purpose by demonstrating the EXACT SAME racist behavior that he was accusing razorsharp of demonstrating! Jeeze… :rolleyes:

You know, IF you are a lawyer, you really should be able to figure this out a little better. However, you certainly seem to have a lot of billable hours to spend singling me out and researching my kids’ high school. Next time ya wanna blow so much time on me, why don’t you just set aside your donation for my kids’ college funds!? :p

While I am, of course, flattered at being mistaken for a female (as would any X-deficient being), I must, alas, confess to being a member of the male tribe.

ROFL While I certainly understand your wanting to offer that clarification, it certainly doesn’t make kluge’s post any more well-reasoned or correct, although his logic DOES have a lovely, circular shape… :p

mafool~I’m glad you want to be in on the lunch in Durham!! Hopefully we’ll have much to celebrate when this trial is over!! It’s only supposed to last til the end of the week, but they’ve only had 5 witnesses out of the many who are supposed to testify. It might still be going on in August!!

Brad Bannon was the last to testify today, and he was absolutely amazing!! He was articulate, confident, totally on top of every aspect of the case and basically an incredible witness–not to mention a cute geek!!

Reade is on the stand right now testifying in the Nifong ethics case. KC Johnson is live-blogging on "durham in wonderland "and I was just reading his notes. Powerful stuff.

“durham in wonderland” is an amazing read. Its like watching a train wreck in slow motion. What is most telling is how feeble Nifong’s defense is. E.g., they motion to dismiss charges related to purported collusion between Nifong and Meehan (head of the DNA lab) based on Meehan’s testimony that there was no agreement to withhold evidence. This is apparently denied by the head of the proceedings, who judges Dr. Meehan’s credibility as “erratic at best.”
