Duke University-Robertson Scholarship

Jwest22: I respectfully suggest you may have missed a key point. Specifically, if an applicant is eliminated from the completion for a Duke undergraduate Merit Scholarship (due to grades or some other perfectly legitimate reason), then – in fact – HE HAS LEGITIMATELY BEEN CONSIDERED. Obviously, that individual has not succeeded to the point where he is “competitive candidate” for one of the “full ride” merit scholarships (such as the Robertson), but Duke only promises consideration, nothing more. In sum, “consideration” does not – and should not – mean a comprehensive review by the applicable committee in Undergraduate Admissions, but is does mean that each application is assessed – considered – to ascertain if it warrants further evaluation and potentially committee appraisal.
