Duke Up Close

^The Duke Up Close program is designed to entice desired students (draw them to Duke). Students who are admitted ED need no cajoling–they’re already bound to go. That’s why you would only be invited to Duke Up Close as an RD candidate.

Urgent Quesion:
Does anyone know what the activities/schedule are for duke up close?

(I still haven’t decided whether or not I’m going yet)

Tuesday: Small group seminars, Dinner, “Evening entertaintment”

Wednesday: Breakfast–“Why Pratt/Trinity,” Class Visits, Tour of art musuem, Special Programs Session (Focus, study abroad), Campus scavenger hunt (?), Picnic Dinner on Lawn

Thursday: Go home.

Although the chances of me attending are pretty slim with financial considerations, I am very excited for this -it sounds like so much fun!

Plus there will be free food. I live for free food.

^Are you me?!?!? Lol :)

If you like UNC people better and are from North Carolina, why don’t you just go there MC?

Did anybody get their tix in the mail/email? Tix or anything else related to Duke Up Close? I haven’t gotten anything since the plan for the three days there.

andrw, (I am MC), I’d pick Duke over Carolina’s Honors Program (which I got) because of the quality of students and education.

I’m not a huge Duke fan still, and my freshman year is almost over. (cant wait to relax this summer, btw)

I had an offer for full tuition at Vanderbilt and also got into my first choice school (Penn) and Brown. But over the entire month of April, I struggled with the decision of whether or not I wanted to come to Duke. When I applied and even up till March, I had no intention of going to Duke. It was my “saftey” of my good schools.

After looking at Penn and realizing that it would take an extra year to get my degree from engineering and wharton, I decided on April 29 to go to Duke and major in econ/BME. I have enjoyed my time here immensely.

While some you have no intention of coming here and dont really like Duke (Im still more of a Xavier fan than Duke fan any way), just keep an open mind. This is an exciting time for all of you, and the next 3 months with college, graduation, prom, and summer are a great time. Enjoy it!

Seriously, are we supposed to get tix or something soon?

^Lol I’m glad I’m driving.

Hehe… I’m glad I get to fly :P
