Dumb person here

If any part of you really thinks you’re dumb (maybe you got those high grades and high test scores by obsessive studying and extreme training/coaching/tutoring??), then you should probably rethink applying to the schools on your list because they’re most certainly not for “dumb” people.

If you don’t really think you’re dumb and you think you really would fit in at those schools, you should probably rethink calling yourself dumb because it has great potential to make others feel very badly about themselves, which I’m trusting is not your intent.

your lack of awards might be an issue for big schools who want to see your efforts rewarded or recognized, but if you write some killer essays, you should be a high match/reach for most schools.

What awards do these schools typically love to see?

It angers me that you would call yourself dumb. I would be overjoyed if my SAT score was like yours.

Good reach for all!

Chance ME.

They are all reach schools.
What were your EA or ED schools?

oh my goodness, amazing sat score…and that uw gpa is pretty good too.

have good ecs, recommendations, and essays, and im sure u will get into at least one of those ivies, if not more!! i wish i had stats like that.

btw, chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1437141-chance-me-following-sil-vous-plait.html

u ■■■■■, 3.8 is dumb???, that makes people like me with 3.6’s feel dumbe…=(

^that’s not the problem, his Weighted is not above 4.0, which is definitely a problem because I am assuming you didn’t get top 10% in your class which would make most schools u listed unlikely (but still possible).

That was the problem I was trying to find an answer to… my weighted isn’t good compared to others

bump10char

Are you serious? Not every student who was accepted into ivy league schools had 2400s and 4.0 GPAs. Besides, people with 2400s and 4.0s have been rejected before - so scores and GPAs are not always the “make-or-break” factors on applications. You have a 0 chance in getting in if you don’t apply at all, but are these the only schools you’re applying to? Which school is your dream school?

My dream school would be Stanford.

Okay, you have a dream school, all you need now is:
2 “Reach” school
3 “Target” schools (moderately competitive admission)
2 Safety schools

You don’t want to just apply to top schools just for the sake of possibly getting into a “name brand” school. Keep your head focused and make sure you do your research.

oh, and you should always have 1 “if all else fails” plan for the unpredictable.

Those weren’t ALL my choices, those were just the really good schools I was seeing if I would have a chance at. I’m hoping for one of these though ;D
