<p>You have to remember, the EA pool is probably more self-selecting. Plus, you don’t see applicants who want to go to a single-choice EA school (take Stanford for instance) or somewhere that’s ED. So, for Caltech’s EA pool, you’re likely to find a group very dedicated to math, science, and engineering, a factor that the admissions committee here likes (go figure).</p>
