I was accepted too, and it’s such a relief. Wesleyan’s been my first choice since my freshman year–and it’s great not to have to send in any more apps now!

Leading up to last Friday, I was so unsure of whether I’d get in. I kept weighting my merits (IB diploma student, 2200 SAT, pretty good SAT IIs, respectable personality traits, NMS semifinalist) versus my setbacks (no work experience, rather sparse on the community service, a relatively low GPA–3.75 weighted–unoriginal background). It’s the biggest pat on the back I’ve ever gotten.

Is anyone else feeling the same? How excited are you other acceptees?

And for those of you who didn’t get in, don’t worry about it! That just means Wesleyan wasn’t your match, and there’s another great school out there that’s perfect for you. My brother’s first choice was University of Chicago, but he didn’t get in. Instead he attended Oberlin and absolutely loved it.
