@jazzcatastrophe, while that is true, you would need to turn down the offer blindly. If you then went forward with your other apps and it turns out your ED offer was the best one, I don’t think you can get it back. For this reason, kids who know they will want to compare financial aid packages should best avoid ED or else they might find themselves turning down a school they wish they hadn’t.
