Early regular decision acceptance?

Son got early write today. As his stats weren’t as good as some others’, we were rather thrilled seeing the envelope from Wes!

Male, Asian, private high school.

SAT I: WR 660, CR 600, M 800.

SAT II: French 770, Spanish 760, Physics 760, Chemistry 790, Math IIC 800

APs: Calc BC 5 (in 10th grade), Comp Sci A 5, Spanish 4, Physics 5, and currently taking AP Stats, AP French, AP Chemistry. Took Multivariable Calc in 11th grade. Taking 4th year college Spanish and second semester Russian currently.

School does not ranked, weighted GPA: 4.17 (pretty much straight As except English).

Recs: we never saw them. One is from his English teacher (which we expect to be good and to be very helpful especially with his lower English grades).

Essays: very very good.

ECs: varsity baseball, key club, but nothing that really stands out. No leadership position.

Others: overseas experience with languages. disclosed Asperger’s to the school (reason for low CR score on SAT basically). one summer at U Chicago (two classes, straight A) and one summer at Carnegie Mellon (A in Russian and B in Comp Sci). sister was accepted at Wesleyan years ago, but never attend, so honestly don’t think it has anything to do with it (not sure if they even know).
