Early Start in Computer Science?

Go to MIT’s Open Course Ware. http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Electrical-Engineering-and-Computer-Science/index.htm

You basically take the class online, free of charge. Many of the classes have textbooks, lectures and notes online.

Wow! Great tip on the MIT Open Courseware for computer science. I had, of course, previously visited the math department’s courses, but it looks like the computer science people at MIT are REALLY into sharing everything that they set for courses online.

And I’m paying a fortune for my son to take those classes! I told him the other day he should have just stayed home and done them through OCW. He didn’t laugh.

That’s what I like about MIT. I believe they really do want to share to improve and educate the world.

Yes, over30, there is much about MIT’s culture that is appealing to me. Should my son be admitted to MIT (I should be so lucky), he will learn a lot there from the people on campus (including the other students) that I’m sure will go beyond even the generously shared information about the courses that you kindly recommended.
