Did anyone else feel it just now? It was magnitude 4.1, centered in York. People in Boston could feel the shaking.
I thought our oil furnace was about to blow. It was a loud rumbling.

I felt nothing, my husband sitting next to me felt it (we are south of Boston), and my daughter in Boston felt it.
Felt it in Portsmouth! Yikes!
I haven’t gotten a response from my son at school in Maine yet, I assume he felt it. He has an internship this summer in San Francisco, I thought that would be where he might experience his 1st earthquake.
Kids in central RI, Boston area, and central MA all felt/heard it. We did not, and we pretty much live in the between the 3 mentioned locations. Or maybe we thought it was a large truck passing by, we get lots of those.
H asked me what it was - I didn’t really feel it! But he did…
Having just seen this post I was like OMG because we have a high speed washer/dryer combo unit that is upstairs in our house and it can sometimes shake and I texted my wife about it because it was worse than usual… Then I looked at the time of the text…
My family in Rye definitely felt it, so did the ones in Milton, Acton, Maine, and my son wants someone to go check on the Nubble light “just in case”
D felt it in suburban Boston.
Local news showed the webcam at Nubble Light during the earthquake–it came out of it just fine. You can tell your son not to worry!
Our local police department posted about it on Facebook and wrote, " Please refrain from calling 911 unless you have an actual emergency to report. Dispatchers across New England appreciate your consideration! "
I felt it. It was just a few seconds, and it was like something hit the house. Our dog felt it too. She was walking out of the kitchen, then raised her head and looked at me. I live northwest of Boston.
DH was upstairs in the bathroom and said the shower started making “weird squeaky noises.” In the last couple of days, our furnace and dishwasher have broken, so he thought, “Oh, great, something else…”
Felt it in central Massachusetts.
