i have a question–does being an “undecided” ED applicant hurt my chances of being accepted? since penn seems to be focused on pre-professionalism (except when you research more, they also are liberal artsy as well) … but i was wondering if penn in particular is a university that looks for students who have an idea of what they want to do. even if you’re applying to SAS.

“undecided” does NOT hurt your application. At a number of orientation sessions for the college, administrators harped on the importance of trying different fields before choosing one.

For better or for worse, that’s the essence of American education.

question: for ED, do the adcoms have to fill up certain state requirements? well…not requirements, bc certainly they won’t be filled after the ED round… i don’t know exactly what it’s called…but will those applying from less represented states have an advantage?

you mean quotas? there is “kind of” a quota. in the end, it will still come down to you as an individual, but it is true that your location can help (ex. nevada) or hurt (ex.NY)
