But ya my stats:
GPA: 93.31 UW
SAT: 1490
3 AP (taken: 1 of a 5s, 2 of 4s) + 4 This Year
Volunteer: 100+ hrs at the local library. 90 hours at a preschool/day-care.
@IcyColdTea Your stats are pretty epic. Although AP classes taken still on low side. I would say your GPA and SAT are on point.
is having no community service hours nursing/medical related going to hurt me? I know decisions will release in probably 12 hours but it’s still nerve-wracking.
Is your gpa/SAT/ACT pretty high? Would you consider your essay and Why NYU to be moderately good and suitable for NYU? Then I think if you got those stuff down, I don’t think they’ll mind the community service. Remember NYU is very holistic, so you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it! If you have any more questions or want to do a chance me, I’ll do my best to answer them.

Class rigor: my school has a set curriculum which is outlined in the school profile but I took the only 2 AP’s offered to me and took all honors ad college prep courses available
EC: Student Council, Choir, Social Justice, Improv, Mentorship with underclassmen, an internship at CBS corporation (i didn’t mention any roles i have there which I’m stupid for. Have been in these clubs from freshman year or sophomore year)
Why NYU: I talked about how my dad was constantly sick when I was younger and being home the most I became my dad’s mini nurse. And that even though he passed away I realized the compassion and care the nurses and I gave him made a difference to their health. Then I mentioned what resources I would love to take advantage of like clinic simulation and global diversity so that diversity can help me limit unconscious bias (since everyone is entitled to proper health care)
Rec’s: From my APUSH and Honors Alg II teacher and i have a strong relationship with them

For future applicants- my stats are 34 ACT and 4.3 weighted GPA. I did a decent amount of volunteering at a hospital and had a couple of leadership positions in school clubs.
