I agree that you have a chance. However, WUSTL is definitely not a safety, and with unweighted 3.8 probably also not a match.
You need to make sure that you have applied to at least one and preferably two safeties that you are happy with. Then relax, be patient, and just see what happens.
Also, I did not see any discussion of budget in this thread. Hopefully you have checked and either you and your parents are fine with being full pay, or you have run the NPC and are fine with the results.
