Elin Woods Speaks Out

I suspect part of what Tiger got was an agreement from Elin that she will not run off to Sweden with the kids. I know she went to Sweden at least briefly after her world collapsed. What would have happened if she just stayed with the kids? I know zilch about Swedish law, but it’s not that far fetched that a Swedish court would grant her custody of the kids and require that if Tiger wanted to see them, he’d have to do it in Sweden. That might have had some interesting tax consequences for him. (Of course, it would have for her too.) But what if Tiger thought that there was a real chance that Elin would stay in Sweden with the kids because she would prefer to escape the papparazzi and the limelight?

Ya think it might be worth some cash to him to get her agreement that she will stay here in the US with the kids? I think so. Again, without knowing anything at all about Swedish law, I wouldn’t want to be Tiger Woods trying to find a Swedish attorney who would represent him in a custody battle with Elin in Sweden. Again, though I have no knowledge of Swedish law, I think it’s probable that a Swedish court would rule that Elin could live in Sweden with her kids if she chose to and that Tiger would have visitation but could not take the kids out of Sweden. I don’t think a whole heck of a lot of golf tournaments are played in Sweden–so that would have limited his ability to tour, at least if he did want to see his kids.

She may have agreed to other things–not to work full time until the kids are a certain age; not to permit unrelated males to stay overnight in the house with the kids; to allow the kids to travel across state lines to see Tiger.

We don’t know and it’s not our business. Call me cynical but if Elin really got that kind of money, I doubt Tiger agreed to give it to her out of remorse.

Is it true that she assaulted Tiger with a golf club(?) back when this whole “Tiger is unfaithful” story broke? I remember speculation that she might have knocked out some of his teeth.

If that’s true, she not get a penny and should be charged with assault. I don’t care if she walked in on him holding an orgy, simultaneously having sex with three hookers atop a mechanical bull . . . spousal abuse is NOT acceptable.

Both Elin and Tiger, as well as many people around them, insist that she DID NOT hit him with a golf club at any time. That in fact there was no physical abuse on either side at any time. The doctors who saw him after the accident have said that his injuries were not consistent with being hit with a golf club.

Rule of the marketplace is that something is worth exactly what others are willing to pay for it./quote]

That would apply to Erin getting $100 million from Tiger BY AGREEMENT. Erin negotiated with Tiger. Whatever the terms of the agreement may be, they were worth $100 million to Tiger. This wasn’t a litigated, adjudicated Court award, it was an agreement that the parties (Erin and Tiger) asked the Court to accept.

I can’t see that Woods and his handlers, wanting to put all of this behind him with as little additional negative PR as possible, would see any advantage in publicly arguing over money with Nordegren. Let’s imagine the visuals-Woods and his multiple mistresses versus Nordegren and the children.

farfallena,

I agree, I think they said, pony up, because people are going to see you as more of an arse if you try to nickel and dime her when you have the millions you have. All they need to do is to remind him of the fall out from his endorsements that occurred …GATORADE! They probably told him, the best thing to do is to sweep this under the rug as fast as we can.

The sad thing, is people are saying she doesn’t deserve it or Tiger deserved to pay the amount…none of us know, if Tiger said to his attorney’s give her what she wants. I did this, I was wrong, and 20% of my worth is not something I am going to miss when it comes to the mother of my children. He could have been the one to say, no problem, just do it!

Now the one thing I bet he did demand was that she spend X amount of time in the states and not return to Sweden. I bet in the custody part, the reason she bought the house is that she will allow him to have extended time with the kids during his off season, and thus, while he has them she will go to Sweden on her own.

bulletandpima…agree with ya on all that!

By the way, in her recent interview, it is reported that Elin states emphatically that she never hit Tiger with the club and that that story was unbelievable and hurtful to her. She used the club to break a window in hopes of getting him out of the vehicle. In any case, both Tiger and she deny anything of the sort about her physically going after him.

You took those exact words right out of my computer, 07Dad. Except I would have gotten her name right.:)

Of course not, no more than I would turn down millions of dollars in a divorce settlement from my world-caliber athlete cheating lowlife husband if he were publicly caught serial cheating with any thing that wore a skirt.

The rule of the marketplace applies to all.

If you had a friend who’s family net worth was $1,000,000 and they had small kids and were divorcing would you begrudge her half the family assets. Just beause Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegrin have more $ in their accounts it doesn’t change the basic principal, “with my wordly goods I thee endow” or something to that effect in the marriage vows.

Would you buy that I thought with the $100 Million she had changed her *first name *in the divorce too?

If not, oops–you got me!

^^^^^Sure, why not? Ha ha.
