As someone already said, you can have fun both sober and with some drinks, what’s the point? Ok, you can have fun without drinks, so can I. I disagree, especially if you think playing beer pong is something to be despised.

I dont care whether u drug, drink or smoke as long as you dont harm a third party. And I definitely dont want to share a room with a person when he/she comes back with heavy smell of smoker, drinker or drug user -.-

and if someone said u dont deserve to go to X UC because u drug, smoke and drink, just show them a middle finger and walk away knowingly you dont have to work hard like them yet still got in their dream school. :P

You can always find someone who will look down on you for something. You expect me to sympathize with you because you’re shocked that there are people out there who disapprove of binge drinkers and potheads? No offense, but I wouldn’t want to room with someone whose entire weekend schedule consisted of partying, getting hammered and doing stupid ****. Why would I (read: anyone) want to live with an unpredictable person who could do something stupid/dangerous at any time while under the influence or bring home one of their junkie friends to do the same? There’s nothing wrong with drinking, but being smashed frequently is a different story. And how awesome would it be if there was a drug raid at your college and your roommate got busted because there was pot in your dorm and he/she couldn’t prove that it was yours?

…

There’s nothing wrong with partying, drinking, smoking, playing video games, or studying. If you start doing any of these things too much, you’re probably not headed in the right direction.

You name it, better people than anyone on these boards have done it on a regular basis.

Medical students drink. A LOT. Some of them even smoke marijuana on a regular basis.

Yes, that is essentially what I said. Any of those things in moderation is acceptable; living with a drunkard or a pothead is a different story. Also, personally, I can’t stand the smell of cigarettes or marijuana, so I definitely wouldn’t want to live with someone who smelled like smoke all the time.

"I can’t stand the smell of cigarettes or marijuana, so I definitely wouldn’t want to live with someone who smelled like smoke all the time. "

Fair enough, but that’s your problem, isn’t it? Not your hypothetical roommate’s.

Exactly. I don’t do those regularly, but I’m not going to criticize those who do.

Well for what it’s worth, many of the big time partiers from my graduating class are at schools like Yale, Dartmouth, Penn, Northwestern, Duke, Cornell, Michigan, etc.

No, it wouldn’t even BE a problem because I would be in a no-smoking dorm or rent a no-smoking apartment. If my roommate decided to violate these stipulations, I wouldn’t hesitate to take care of the situation, because at that point, he is being incredibly inconsiderate and disrespectful.

Problem solved!

These people are idiots and not worth wasting your time thinking about.

“These people are idiots and not worth wasting your time thinking about.”
… A joke, maybe? Or maybe I’m just an optimist.

Please tell me you don’t really feel that way.

Hell with it. Smoke weed, get hammered…who cares? If your roomate cares than smoke and get hammered outside the dorm room, don’t keep your stuff in the dorms and theres absolutely nothing that can be done by an RA.

Do you worry about it being on the illegal (prohibited) list and what might happen if you get arrested? The next generation of voters must end this Prohibition.

I don’t drink or smoke or do drugs.

And I don’t sit at home on the weekends studying for the SATs or play video games.

My buddy Fodfatherbob is applying to top schools, and he goes out with friends and drinks almost every weekend, smokes marijuana now and then, and dabbles in psychedelics. Now, just TRY telling him that he doesn’t deserve to go to a good school, see what he says.

treesuss christ says you should smoke weed on the daily. (or however often you’d like!)

Hard work good, and hard work fine but first take care of head. seriously.

this includes drinking/socializing/having a life/doing activities you actually enjoy rather than what you think people want you to do. if you kids don’t realize it you’re going to end up sad, lonely and depressed like very many others befoer you.

Amen to the topic creator. I’m pretty much in the same position. Except with none of the weed and double the alcohol.

It makes me very sad that my friends won’t be going with me to college. But I’m already used to being in classes where I know very few people. Damn APs.

If you can smoke, drink, and party on weekends and still make grades good enough to get into UCLA, more power to you.
