My niece is at SCAD in Savannah. She spent over 12 hours on a bus to Atlanta yesterday – the school evacuated students to their Atlanta campus.
@cnp55 SCAD evacuated around 3,000 students, got them cots and shower facilities in Atlanta, and have arranged activities, tours and other things to keep them occupied during these days. SCAD rocks! They also had the foresight to cancel classes early in the week, thus allowing many to self-evacuate voluntarily beginning on Wed. My D2 was one of these students and got out that Wed. morning. This voluntary evacuation meant fewer students and a quicker process when it became mandatory to leave Savannah. Had they not cancelled classes early, my daughter would have been very hesitant to leave just yet.
