Emerson College Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

My D23 just finished her first semester at Emerson as a Media Arts Production major. Just want to let everyone know that she loves the school and Boston. Last spring, she was deciding between three top ten film schools: Emerson, Chapman and UNCSA. In the end she felt Emerson was the best fit and it has been. She worked on two Emerson Channel shows in the fall and yesterday she found out she earned a 4.0 her first semester! The only drawback thus far is that she applied for Kasteel Well for spring 2025 and she was waitlisted (like way down the list) since there are only 90 spaces and they’re divided among the different schools.

Also, initially Emerson was on the lower side of merit aid. She was offered $10k when admitted, which did not place it within our budget. After some back and forth, including their last offer on May 1, they upped her merit to $25k and luckily, we could swing it. She is considering applying to be a TA next year which would cover her room and board.

Hi All, my son was “deferred” after applying EA, has anybody heard in a similar situation.

No, we haven’t heard anything. My daughter applied EA for Theatre & Performance back in November. There was a round of EA released in December but not sure how many Theatre applicants were part of that
Feb 23 seems a little late for EA

My child was also deferred during EA. They said they would be considered with regular admissions and would hear something by April 1. Really hoping that they let us know by mid-March one way or the other.

Deferral turned into an admission today! Yay!
