dragonmom, your beef isn’t with us, it’s Nee York. Shuttles were built in Southern California and many also landed here. I will miss the twin sonic booms we would hear when they landed at Edwards.

Was watching out of the office window from 11:40 - 12:00. Popped in for surgery, and missed the flyby at 12:23. So bummed. Too bad there was no GPS tracking available.

YoHoYoHo, too late for this go-round, but I got a pretty good sense of where the shuttle was by following #spottheshuttle on twitter.

Trojanchick, I’m just having fun. I think they belong where the most people will see them. Don’t begrudge Edwards a bit. I remember watching the first landing with friends who had been stationed there. It’s still such a vivid memory…

S1 was on a conference bike at the time and was able to see the shuttle. We were in the area and I don’t know how we missed it.

Totally off topic, but what is a conference bike?

DS went to Moffat Field near San Jose and said there were huge crowds (they turned it into an event with speakers and food carts et al). He sent me some pictures and it was very impressive.
